Marjaana's First Camping Trip

Throughout January the temperatures were a little chilly (we had extended periods of -30s) so I kept Marjaana close to home. She does love it outside no matter the temperatures though, and relaxes the second she gets into her stroller. Brett modified her jogging stroller to have skis, so it works quite well in the snow to either push or pull.
She falls asleep quickly in her stroller.
All cozied in. Cold temps don't have anything on her!
One mom, one kid on skis trying to get pulled by the dog, the baby to be pushed in the stroller, and another child to be pulled in the sled. We were a bit of a mess on this walk, but made it out and back home.
We all have skis this year and are hoping to get out for some family skis this winter/spring. After our first go I decided we might need a way to hook Anya up to Kiva. The boys are pretty fast and Marjaana's stroller works pretty well to pull, but Anya just can't quite keep up yet.

Finally... We had a week in February that the temperatures just sky-rocketed (like 60 degrees in 2 days or something. -30 to +30) and planned to get out camping. The predicted temps for the weekend were in the 20s and it seemed like the perfect chance to try camping with Marjaana. Oren didn't want to drive, so we packed onto two machines and loaded up two sleds.
We checked the boys' traps on the way out. Ryker decided he wanted to ride in the sled and Anya hopped on with me. When we go for rides like this I put Marjaana in a light merino wool base layer with a thin down snowsuit over. Then put her in the front carrier under my jacket.
Our friends were interested in camping too, so they stayed in the wall tent that Brett left out and we set up the Arctic Oven. It was super fun having friends along to share the experience with....and the help!

Do you believe me yet?! She loves it outside and just relaxes in an instant.
We woke up on Sunday and took a beautiful snowshoe hike.
All too soon it was time to pack up and head for home. We ended up leaving the tent and cots set up to make the process a bit more convenient for the next time around.
