Water
We've been on "Conserve Water" status for the last couple of months. The well has been low and we've heard a variety of possible reasons for it, but nothing sure. When it rises to a more acceptable level an announcement is made that we can wash a load of laundry every 2-3 days. Then when it drops too low we are on strict conservation status again, meaning no laundry and limited showers, dish washing, and flushing (hauling water for any of the above). The boys are pretty happy that they don't need to take frequent showers or put clean clothes on daily. I am just so thankful we still have the ability to drain water that I can't complain too much. There's an open hole just down from town that we can haul water from. We still have an old school top loading washer, so it has been convenient to haul water to run it. Brett has hauled all the water so far, but I finally decided that I should help share the burden. (Why did it take me so long?!? We chuckle at how much having a baby in the house has changed our days!) We had decided to use cloth diapers with Marjaana, but then when we had to haul water I started buying disposable, but I figured we'd have full use of the water before too long. I certainly wasn't expecting it to be this long! Now I figured if I haul one load of water a day I could go back to the cloth diapers. 1. The best helper carrying the buckets down to me. 2. Chopping out the ice. 3. Fresh clean water. 4. Big helper again. I had been carrying Marjaana on my back, but it's a little slippery on the ice so we tried a different route the next time.
